So, I’m just wondering what people clean thier tongue jewelry with before they put it in their piercing? And how long did you wait after getting your tongue pierced before changing the jewelry yourself? I was told to wait 6 months and wondering how long others waited. Thanks!

If you are careless enough to ruin your teeth and hygiene by shoving a rod through your tongue, I’m sure you are careless enough to keep it clean.
Clean or not, It isn’t sanitary.
Soak it in listerine for a few minutes. Or soak it in rubbing alcohol.
You’ll have to rinse off the rubbing alcohol, but listerine can go right in your mouth if you want.
clean with warm salty water,,,,not too much alcohol tastes bad,,,,it has to heal around your tongue, six months about right
rinse with peroxide. it’s nasty, and don’t swallow it! but it’ll make the hole heal much faster. I started changing my jewelry after two months!
soak it in a strong mouthwash, like listerine….. it will kill the bacteria and not taste bad when you put it back in
